Our History

Coast & Country Primary Care was established in July 2015 when the Federal Government announced that it was dissolving Medicare Local as part of a NSW Health restructure. Originally operating as Central Coast Primary Care until March 2021, the organisation was formed as an independent not-for-profit, to ensure the continuity of health programs and community services that had been operating across the Central Coast community since 2001.

With an experienced team of passionate people who understood the local healthcare landscape, we flourished; expanding the services provided to the community, primarily in Mental Health, Indigenous Programs, and Community Programs, such as Coast Nutrition and the Cervical Screening Clinic.

Having built strong pillars in the community as a Mental Health expert organisation, we established an NDIS service in 2017; an identified gap in psychosocial specific NDIS services.

Celebrating our 5th birthday in 2020, we may only be a young organisation, but our history, the experience of our staff and the broad range of services far exceeds this.  Going from strength to strength by enhancing our service delivery and diversifying clients, we launched our NDIS services into new regions, expanding across New South Wales to bring our collaborative and innovative approach to more people.

As a leading provider of Mental Health and Community Services, we are proud of the legacy we are creating and are excited about a future that can see us take our vision and our values into more communities.
