Guri Wagir Aboriginal Health

The Aboriginal Health Program aims to help close the gap in life expectancy for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people by:

  • Supporting primary care services to deliver more culturally sensitive services.
  • Helping people with certain chronic diseases (diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disease, chronic renal disease and/or chronic respiratory disease) to access and navigate the healthcare system in order to better manage their condition.

The program is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health until January 2017.
