Better Access to Mental Health (BAMH)

Better Access to Mental Health (BAMH) 2017-12-01T03:49:48+00:00

BAMH Rationale

The BOMH service funded by the Government limits the amount of consumers that can access the service. The need for Mental Health is very high, and GPs are regularly feeding back to CCPC that they need better access to Psychologists.

Central Coast Primary Care are now offering a bulk billed Psychologist under the BAMH model.

GPs can refer as many patients as they like to BAMH, and  your patients can receive up to 10 visits in a calendar year. These patients are seen by our own Psychologist, Jeanne Walker. Jeanne is working out of the Bridges After Hours Clinic in Kanwal, on the grounds of Wyong Hospital.

How to Access

The GP needs to complete a Mental Health Treatment Plan using one of the following item numbers; 2700, 2701, 2715 or 2717. This will give their patient an initial 6 sessions with our psychologist.

The GP or Practice Manager then need to complete the online referral system on the CCPC website ( or go directly via this link)

After that a Mental Health Review can be completed by the GP using the item number 2712 which will give their patient a further 4 sessions.

Practice Benefits

  • GPs can really look after clients in need
  • Streamlined booking system from BOMH to BAMH
  • GPs receive initial, interim and final reports from our psychologist
